***********************FINAL BLOG POSTING FOR SEMESTER*******************************
I have learned that research allows everyone to know more than they did before about a subject and to inquire on it even furthermore in the fullest aspects of discovery and knowledge thereof and throughout. I will be continuing to utilize the skills learned in this class of online journaling for personal records and thoughts, website bookmarking, uncovering information from outside hard or electronic sources for data extraction, and online devices are all vital to connecting to the rest of the world that we are in whether it be in applying for jobs that require you to use technical applications or simple everyday interactions via internet with friends and so forth. I in particular will use what I have learned from this course in the future by accessing useful and "keepsake" websites that can be quinessentially helpful for my later researching in other courses that I take during my College career/journey.

13a. Reporting On The Application Project
1.)~For my research application project, I have decided to attempt to write a science-fictional story about a volatile and highly action-oriented and puzzle/bio-chemical mystery thriller story of a horrendously violent and lethally poisionous plant that is delivered purposefully to a young boy and girl's residence that happens to be their parents home, alone and trusted since they were 16 and almost at the early adulthood phase of their lives. A gigantic crate is dropped off in the front of the two teen's house and thuds with an otherworldy slam on the concrete of the front porch step. All of the horror and fantastic biological mayhem ensues once the deviously yet innocently curious teenagers find a chainsaw in their fathers home repair workshop shed and start to saw into the box in efforts to unveil what awaits them.............................................~
2.)~I have not begun the official essay as of yet in the causes of the reality that I have not approached and reached a conclusion to how my entire short story will constitute although a tiny plan is already in the works even in this very moment.
3.)~I MUST START TYPING THE APPLICATION PROJECT THIS WEEKEND!!!!!!!!~

10.b Plan Your Application Project
I can tell you now about my application project for the upcoming weeks until finals....
Aromatherapy Mysterious Entity Appartion...........
-I will be talking of a fictional incident in which a young woman and man are curious about a special "X" form of aromatherapy that is wrapped in a silveris package and when opened, sends them into a panicky frenzy of hallucinations and delirium..............all to awake and find that the plant is missing but has somehow altered their house into a eerie and enormously ingeniously devised environmental hazardous material trap with a mind of its own, sinister and ready to terrorize the two adults........home alone.......yet together in a fight for their very sanity and health..

10.a Reporting Your Progress
I will state the status of the in-field research that I conducted during the course of my Aromatherapy essay.
*I had set out to the address of 2600 East 6th Avenue on the corner cross street of Fillmore where the Aromatherapy store titled: Apothecary Tincura was posted. Me and my grandmother had stepped into the establishment and greeted the workers and co-workers that were in progress of working there, stocking aromatherapy items on shelves and relocating certain other objects as well. I inquired to a woman at the front desk dressed in a red skirt about aromatherapy and if someone could likely have a treatment session done to them without too high of a cost directly at the store yet she informed me that I would have had to travel to a place where private practices are held at within my community or another in Denver. From this information, I told her after she offered me and my grandmother to browse the store for aromatherapy bottles and oils that I could purchase in which I eventually did. A well-aged and definate effectual aromatherapy scent I used for my in-field research was labeled "Fire: Releasing", in purpose of truthfully "releasing" the tensions, stresses and other ill-feelings from the body for extended periods of time and even completely if the exact amount of the oil is being used. Following the directions indicated on the darkened bronze/copperish, blue and white container, I added precisely 7 drops from the bottle itself into a bathtub of running water and cucumber melon bodywash soap suds for an enhanced effect to the already beneficial oil formula. As I sunk my body into the bathtub water first checking though to see if it was too hot, I simultaneously felt an easiness and lightness almost as if my body's composure and fluids or flesh within me were made of a cotton or billowy fabric as that of a pillow or bedspread quilt. The duration of this lasted an impressive and suprising 10 to 20 minutes and then proceeding into an hour and I was wanting more of the same and will continue to blend the oil into the waters of my baths and even test new aromas when available or when I find free-time from my busy schedule of school. For my research paper, I have completed the entire essay in rough draft format, MLA, and the slight adjustments of editing some of my sources cited and phrases within my text is the only errors that i've noticed thus far, but overall status report is 100% ok.

9.b Brainstorming Visual Aids
On this blog, I will be posting my plans for how I will be going about presenting my visula aid for the purpose of display and (evidence) within my research essay.
*****Visual Aids*****
-Photgraphs of Aromatherapy plants that are relevant and factual (actual) to how I am describing them inside the context(s) of my paper itself.
-Pictures of Aromatherapy apparatuses that can alternatively be accomodated and articulated for usages (therapeutic intentions).
-Snapshot(s) of essential oils that are rubbed into the skin for Aromatherapeutic healings and the differential varieties of oils available.
-Photo of the region within the cortex(s) of the brain responsible for the sense of smell and scent identification/interpretation (analysis or decyphering).
-An extra option clip of someone undergoing Aromatherapy treatment to show proof of how it appears when Aromatherapy is in progress.

9.a Writing Thesis Statements
I will comprise three thesis statements underneath this header.
-"The treatment of the body is quite vital to our continuity of health, contributors of it such as alternative forms of medicine also increase the likeness thereof including all of its aids for individuals who use it for relief of mental discomforts, to the most commonly recognized variations of illnesses"
-"Many people within our world today prefer the general prescribed potions and procedures of treatments in trust that they will heal their bodies appropriately by doctor consent yet some drugs are misused and equally abused. Aromatherapy however in many ways implements cures for humans and pets alike by way of scents, types of plants, oils and the applications therein"
-"Alternative medicine could be overdone believe it or not!!! but in still Aromatherapy has a vast numeration of effects and methods that are of essential importance to human health along with it's significance to us, timeline, practicioners and detailed techniques of how it is used in-depth"

8a. Quoting, Paraphrasing, and Summarizing
To shorten and greatly reduce the prolonged or "long-windedness" of some information and or data, I will below be using an example of an internet source quote, paraphrasing and summarizing it.
~Quote~
Source- Online (Internet)http://middlespot.com/
Title- "Aromatherapy is the therapeutic use of plant... aromatic essential oils to promote physical and psychological well-being.It is sometimes used in combination with massage and other therapeutic techniques as part of a holistic treatment approach." [The Definiton Of Aromatherapy]
Paraphrased version- Aromatherapy is the therapeutical and remedial (medical) usage of wild and organic plants either through inscents or body oils to heal the body and aid the overall longevity and stability or maintenance of health.
Summarized version- Aromatherapy helps individuals by incorporating physical treatment via scents that emanate from exotic plants in order to heal the body and mind in various ways which is all classified as holistic treatment or medicine.

7.b Evaluating Sources
I will evaluate three of my sources (One library book, a periodical article, and a website).
-BOOK SOURCE-
*MOLECULAR BASIS OF ODOR, By John E. Amoore
Western Regional Research Laboratory United States Department Of Agriculture in Albany, California. Publisher Charles C. Thomas, Springfield, Illinois U.S.A.
[Relevance within this book is at a maximum because all the information contained inside is applicable to what is being overviewed. This book in everyway is credible because there is a non-biased placement on the information meaning it is presented in a fashion that is informative for the reader, and not based on self-opinion only or assumptions of the material being presented. The author is a prestigious doctor affiliate with knowledge and expertise within the field he is writing in, and all of his information is thus afterward represented by equal sources of relevancy for evidence in proper form, format and characteristics and professionalism as well.]
-PERIODICAL/MAGAZINE ARTICLE SOURCE-
*Aroma therapy: Lavender Fragrance Is Sleep Inducing.
[The relevance of this article from a credible and peer-reviewed journal automatically signified to me that it would be relevant in the most upward perspectives due to the amount of sheer evidence to support the key points of the article and all throughout, the author is from a prestigious university (Brown), and the information pertains to the subject matter in a conclusive and understandible way, absent from self-absorbsion or misconstrued ideas.]
-INTERNET SOURCE (WEBSITE)-
*Aromaweb.com
[This website is respectably credible although it is not easily noticable at first due to the presentation and style (layout) of the website initially itself. The founder of the website, Miss Wendy Robbins, a researcher within the spectrum of alternative medicine (aroma therapy) specifically. The information once more refrained from judgemental or narrow "open-ended" theories that could be quite controversial and debatably insignificant to the topic. The data presented on this website details how aromatherapy works and its overviewed usages, practices and other notable notes of inquiry, there is evidential evidence, comprehensive in theory, and the timeline of information is current and updated.]

7.a Conducting Internet Research
Below, I will be listing the four differential types of search engines that I will be using for my primary research as a general concept and the data therein.
-SEARCH ENGINE PLATFORM-
{Gigablast.com as my choosen search engine base}
{I included the search engine math of +Aromatherapy Benefits to say that I wanted to find out about aromatherapy and it's benefits}
{I took useful advantage of the "+" operator within my keywords search to provide the most centerfold and direct results for me to avoid sources from sites that may not be virtually any help at all.}
{The date that this search was conducted on was of this evening, 3/15/09.}
{The rate of hits exceed my expectations, a count of +10 and more to be exact.}
{I would honestly say that all the results were at a relevancy of a medium 4 or slightly meniscule at that, but all fairly to adequately usable information in whole.}
-DIRECTORY-
{I was not able to record any information for the directory that I choose for this segment of the assignment. I tried Odyssearch, in which gave no results amongst the keywords that I was using (Aromatherapy and Risks.)}
-OTHER (MISCELLANEOUS)-
{DeepDyve.com as the website picked to evaluate}
{I used the keywords of Aromatherapy practices due to the fact that I also wanted to know more of this subject under these terms and I felt that I would gain significant inquiry from.}
{I made an attempt at just going with a plain style method of phrasing, since most of the others (boolean, etc.) seem to over-complicate some of the metacrawler and directory database search engines.}
{598 Hits were unveiled for this site in accumulation.}
{Hit relevance in my opinions would be at a rank of 4 again, since none seem to be at a highest feature yet of convenience, accessibility, etc.}
-METACRAWLER-
{SearchSalad, The Healthy Way To Search}
{Aroma,Therapy, Essential, & Oils were the keywords that I used in order to minimize upon distinct results rather than too broad of a search result string or findings}
{My search strategy was to use the entire phrase of "Aromatherapy" instead of individualizing it as that may have caused some discrepencies in my discoveries}
{The date of the search is of this evening, 3/15/09.}
{There were a total estimation of eight hits from this site.}
{From my own instinctual judgement, I would classify the information given from SearchSalad hits (all eight) as ranked 3-4, medium-range on the spectrum.}

6.c Planning Field Research
*********************************Field Research**********************************
I will be conducting the form of research known as a personal experience since I personally believe that it will be the best way and easiest method of collecting data on my subject the most efficiently as well. I can begin actually going out into town to get my data in person hopefully by the week after next, depending on how soon the individuals at a place in which Aromatherapy is practiced and offered responds to my phone call and the convenience of its location (near or far). I should document and record or make adequate and sufficient mental notes of what all happens and occurs to me during my experience at the local of my research study.

6.b Testing Your Assigned Search Tool
MY ASSIGNED SEARCH WEBSITE IS: ~Middlespot.com~
MIDDLESPOT.COM
-Resource Searched: Aromatherapy locations, Aromatherapy oils, Aromatherapy specifics,.
-Keywords Used: Aroma, Therapy, Locations, Oils, Specifics
-Search Strategies Used: So far, I only used the addition symbol from the search engine math however, unfortunately this website will not accept the search engine math such as when I used the addition (to include) terms within a particular search. I did use some boolean operators which gave me suprising results moreso than anything Google has ever done for me. (Aromatherapy and health, Aromatherapy and its benefits, Aromatherapy or alternative medicine, Aromatherapy not essential oils and Aromatherapy and its flaws.
-Date Of Search: Conducted as of this afternoon (02/4/09) at approx. 4:46 P.M.
-Number Of Hits: A total outcome of 256607 were brought into the search fray..
-Relevance Of Hits: On the classic scale of numerical rating, I will say that all of my hits had a relevancy rating of 4 or 5, being that they gave me information that I have yet to locate at any other website i've visited, Google included.

6.a Using Internet Search Tools
-I normally use Google dot com for my searches because it is a site that I depend on and trust primarily as a notable site for the facts that I delivers exact results for any term that I type within the search box however, I do wish that it was more specific in some areas as far as the direct subject phrase or terminology that I am looking for. Many instances, I discover that upon typing in a search word, the findings list is extensive yet after only a few pages worth of results, there appears to be no more related site links remaining for what it is that I am searching for indefinately. Google provides me with instant and expected discoveries of what it is that I would like to see as far as my searches and I rarely feel overwhelmed or that the website itself isn't quite as useful as it is proclaimed to be. I dislike the aspects and realizations of Google not giving the full results of certain topics and rather expending my search efforts by listing other non-related concepts that are far from the criteria and description of my desired subject matter.
