I utilized the EBSCO.Com reference search engine database as my primary resource for finding my books (for later use) for my research topic and the Auraria Campus website.

The prime keywords for my searches are of: Cold Stress, Aroma, Therapy, Alternative, Medicine, Communication Box; Monoamine;, Limonene; Isomer, Essences, Oils, Essentials, Therapeutics, Medicine, Health, Healing, Herbal, Herbalism.

All of these searches were conducted as of today (02/22/09) Within the documentation span (All sources) of 2006-8.

There were several hits for my sites, a total of estimated 4-5 presumably.

Each of the hits were approximately on a scale of a moderate 3 or 4, still verifiably important.

2.c Developing My Research Question

The following lists below pertain to the research developmental questions that I and a fellow student within this class have compiled co-operatively:

~AROMA THERAPY~

1.

-What is aroma therapy?
-What is it's medical classifications/implications/applications?

-Why would someone choose this as their medical treatment procedure?
-Why is it so effective or ineffective?
-Why does it exist?
-Why is it used?
-Why is it so popular or discredited?

-When was the idea of aroma therapy first initially created?
-When was it practiced to begin with?
-When were all the ingredients involved introduced?
-When was the general broad mainstream public aware of it?
-When did it start to become such a useful tool in medicine alternatively?
-When was it even considered to be an alternative medicine?

-Where was it founded?
-Where was it administered initially?
-Where did the plants and other implementations within it gathered/originated?
-Where can you find an aroma therapy center?
-Where would someone go to school in order to learn how to properly treat patients under aroma therapy conditions?
-Where do individuals who desire to find out more information on aroma therapy go to?

-Who found aroma therapy before the start of our modern era?
-Who formulated aroma therapy itself?
-Who brought the concepts and benefactors to our world today?
-Who was the person to handle it or be of tremendous benefit of it primarily (documented)?

-How does it actually heal the body?
-How is it made?
-How does it affect your mind?
-How does it rid the body of harmful ailments or impediments?
-How could it possibly kill you???.............
-How might one go about obtaining aroma therapy aid?
-How do you utilize self-aid home kits for aroma therapy treatment

-Would it be a major consumer's commodity in the future?
-Would it be more potentially potent in later years?
-Would it be dangerous perhaps moreso in future's time?
-Would it still be around then?

-Could it really be lethal?.........................
-Could aroma therapy have likely mechanical or robotic agents in it (microchips, radio/satellite transmitters, cameras, probes, etc.)
-Could aroma therapy somehow be used for other motives besides medicine?..
-Could some forms of it morph (change shape and composition at will)?.......
-Could it be the next gen for medicine? (Revolutionary?..)
-

-Should everyone continue to acknowledge it's presence in society?
-Should everyone forget about or disregard traditional medicine entirely?
-Should aroma therapy be partnered or even infused into standardized medicine
(s)?
-Should we destroy aroma therapy?
-Should we take it more or less serious than we do currently?
-Should we add or subtract components from aroma therapy?
-Should we inject additives into aroma therapy items such as ergogenic drugs?
-Should someone practices aromatic treatment(s) without a medical lisence?
-Should there be guidelines and codes of ethics/protocols in aroma therapy practices/treatments?

2. RESEARCH Q&A'S

For my research question that will remain until the conclusion of my topic is "Does Aroma Therapy Live Up To The Hype And Criteria Set By Our Society Today And If So, How?". I choose this question in efforts to definitively draw a sort of narrowing of the gap amongst beliefs, conceptions, misconceptions, and myths on the whole subject.

3.

I have refined my research question with more descript and defined words this time around. "Is aroma therapy a need for society and how does it assist in the health of individuals on an internal to external level?"

4. I should mainly refine my research question of how credible and powerful/or weak aroma therapy is with existing conditons becasue shared or singular or even joint assumptions can be based on misunderstandings and maybe lies about the truth and all that is in actuality of what is out there in the world in referral to aroma therapy.

2.b Narrowing My Topic

From what I have been made aware of within the Chapter 2 section of the Bedford Researcher text, I will have to narrow my search of the broadened field of alternative medicine due to the variety of methodology that is incorporated into it and how extensive the entirety of it all is.

I have come to the decision of making my topic the distinction of aroma therapy and how it can aid the human body and mind (both in most respects equally and definitively). I also choose this not only because it came to mind suddenly, but it is a technique of therapy that in my opinion is quite innovative and can minimize the stresses and anxieties associated with popping large tablets into your body or the scarry gleam of a long needle being inserted deeply yet briefly into the body as well. I was thinking that this subject matter would spark some intellectual inquiry of others since it is not as mundane as the original practices of medicine and it provides a sense of security and privacy whilst undergoing its steps in usage(s). The sense of scent is another human attribute that is incorporated and 90 percent of our daily lives, and properly treating it through aromas that can trigger certain chemcial after-effects in the body thus leading to healthier living steadily and surely in anticipation.

Lastly, I believe personally that if I were to broaden my research on alternative medicine, I wouldn't captivate my audiences well enough and may cause them to wonder about in their thinking as to what is my primary focus instead of the statistics of it as a whole. Reduction of the vastness of my topic arrangement should be efficient and stable in way to establish sufficient information for my audiences on my concentration of my single aspect (aroma therapy) being that it is only a mere glimpse into the fullness of how contemperary medicine affects people physicologically and internally. I will go about narrowing my topic by concentrating all of my key points singularly on how aroma therapy assists the body in health, the step-by-pace processess, ingredient descriptions, the ailments that aroma therapy widely cures or treats, and other intriguing discoveries on the matter that are not yet known.

2.a Exploring My Topic

I have discovered some very shockingly captivating aspects and facts as to the effectiveness of aroma therapy and what it trully details.

Some of the results that anyone in perfect to optimal health can plesantly experience during aroma therapeutic treatment is regaining of lost memory(ies), emotional repair, sharpness and attention (focusing mechanism), enhancement of emotional feelings, and the cure of many sicknesses ranging from commonplace colds to more dramatic illnesses such as diarrhea and sinuitis (severe infection of the sinus cavity presumably).

Aroma therapy mechanics and how it functions in the human body consists mainly on the inhilation event caused by the sole person or person(s) it involves, basically by way of whafting or using the hand(s) to gently fan or wave the air emitted from an aroma therapy agent (device or object) in order to re-direct the aromatic air upwards toward and eventually into the nostrils and sinuses therefore afterwards. Candles are some of the most basic and traditionally utilized mechanisms for aroma therapy solely in reliance of its easily and convenient aroma emission capabilities. Once the aromatic air is inhaled, the fumes from it enter the nasal cavity of the individual and initiates the full activity of the limbic system of the body which activates emotion and memory functions distinctly and intricately. Physiological balance and psychological purification is intertwined into the concepts and methods of aroma therapy just as importantly as the fabrications of it and is a longer-lasting process(es) rather than opening the likelihood of over-the-counter drug addiction commonly recognized with oral medications and fluids of the same or of similarity in nature and content(s). The mood that an individual is in at the time of aroma inhilation also promotes how well they recieve the effects and healthy outcomes of aroma therapy, the more enthralled or sorrowful the person is, they are seriously likely to not feel the true positive consequences of it's composition. Odors that are offensive and those that we all seek out and are delightfully rewarding in smell can attribute significantly to the quality of aroma consultation when referring to those who search for internal/external healing besides prescribed packages that is distributed by your local/family doctor or medical advisor. Oils are yet an optional deal that someone can pursue which may been more intensely soothing to the foreskin and pores of the body than simply breathing in a medicinal smog of an aromatic formulated herb or species of natural plant. Steam is the basis of the breathing types of aromas and users typically (by doctor's instruction(s)) are asked to cut off a self-determined designated or random leaf or stem from a tropical plant (with health/healing components) and boil hot water in a pot directly over a medicinal herbal leaf or to submerge it completely within the substance and constantly allow the simmering brew to fumigate around you, all the while taking in its beneficial gases.

Lastly, the oils are seemingly moreso popular among citizens who have found themselves succumbing to the miseries and bad happenings of circumstances in life and need to be revitalized in a positive mindframe and body. The oils are carefully mixed combinations of potent ingredients that replentish and renew the body from arrays of symptoms as stated previously but in a more contact driven formality and can in some repsects be an instantaneous or simultaneous occurence for the patient (user). Depending on the level and quantity of mixtures within the substance(s) of the oil, an entity will feel either heightened effects or slightly lesser ones, but not to be dissipated or deplete all together. Aroma therapy is a relaxing choice for self-heal and cleansing, setting the tone for the future of medicine to come.

1.b My Topic

For my research project this semester, I have come to the decision of modern medicine alternatives to health and its practices. I will be conducting in-depth and analytical searches about this matter in the ideas of how exactly the techniques of spiritual medicine like incense and accupuncture can cleanse the mind and body of impurities both of thought and physical properties associated with negativity and all of its harmful outcomes.

Within the field of medicine, I have some menial background knowledge of it based on what I have been exposed to through informative television programs and books. Standard and world wide known pills (prescriptions) are taken by millions in our civilization in order to remedy the multitude of numerous ailments, diseases, average illnesses and other happenings of either unbearable or slight malaise. However, not all of the oral medications and methods of treatment can relieve the pains and tramas of individuals yet most people pursue the dangers of attempting to "escape" by way of illegal drugs, drinks, and other acts of self-abuse. Medicine isn't all injections, capsules taken with fresh water, creams, bandages and visits to your neighborhood doctor. A wide selection of safe and suprising medicinal alternatives are available to anyone who chooses to accept the benefits therein; few of which even are beyond the natural visible spectrum such as aura healing, prayer, meditation, and internal massaging technique due to the results not being seen immediately inside the body. Speculations and skepticism is all around these possibilities and opportunities of alternate medicine practice for health purposes and many professionals believe that they are false or untrustworthy and littered with gimmicks and tricks to sway the general public into paying higher percentages of money than what the cause that it is worth not to mention lying to them and revolving more unwanted problems in health and finances. Overall, the medicine that isn not particularly in the format of solid, physicalities has been proven in some cases to be more potent and soothing to the "spirit" of the individual than the formulated concoctions of regular medical procedures.
